SCTVMC CLASSES

We invite Salisbury residents to become SCTVMC members and take video production classes with

us. Much of the equipment is pretty easy to learn. With this knowledge, you can make programs for our cable television channels and video-on-demand over the Internet. See the list of classes below and register using the form at the bottom of this page.

Classes are usually scheduled based on YOUR needs and schedule.  Please let us know.

Workshop: Basic Field Production

Learn the basics of shooting video using the Canon Vixia HFS20. During this one day, two-hour workshop, students will learn how to operate the camera, set up a tripod, attach and use a microphone and headphones. You’ll also receive an introduction to the language of shooting video.

Open to SCTV Members.   Completion allows you to sign out a Canon Vixia Kit for Public Access productions

Workshop: Intro to Non-linear editing

Learn the basics of Adobe Premiere Pro, the industry-leading non-linear editing software for filmmakers, television broadcasters, journalists, students, and videographers. This one-day, two-hour workshop will cover importing, exporting, organizing and the basics of editing your footage.

Open to SCTV members.  Completion allows you to edit your footage for use in Public Access productions

Workshop: Intro to Board Meeting Production

Learn how to live cablecast Salisbury town board meetings.  This one day, 2-hour workshop will introduce you to robotic cameras, multiple microphones, lighting, graphics and more.

Not only will you learn something fun and interesting, you’ll be helping residents stay informed on what’s happening in town government.

Open to SCTV members.  Completion allows you to direct the production of town board meetings.

Workshop: Intro to Library Event Production

Learn how to record events in Salisbury Public Library’s meeting room.  This one day, 2-hour workshop will introduce you to robotic cameras, multiple microphones, lighting, graphics and more.

Help the library share some its many events and guest speakers and help residents stay informed on what’s happening at the library.

Open to SCTV members.  Completion allows you to record approved events at the library.
