How to Create JPEG Slides for SCTV

Best Application Choice:  Google Slides

  • Google Slides may be best choice to create a slide because you don't need a paid Microsoft program.  And composing the slide can be done in any Web browser.  But you do need a (free) Gmail account.
  • For best results, start by opening our Google Slides Template with built-in instructions.
  • Click "File/Make a Copy" and give it a new name that helps us identify it as one of YOUR slides.) 
  • After you have composed the slide, click "File/Download As" and choose JPEG (.jpg) image.  
  • After you "save as" the JPEG file,  the text and images are locked; SCTV cannot make changes. 
  • Email/attach the .jpg file to info@SCTVMC.org.

Good Choice:  MS PowerPoint or MS Publisher
  • MS PowerPoint and Publisher are simple, effective ways to compose text and pictures -- IF you already have one of those programs.  
  • Click either of the links below to download SCTV's bulletin board template with built-in instructions.                       Powerpoint Template           Publisher Template     
  • After you open a PowerPoint or Publisher template, click  "save as" and type in your own file name to save to your local computer.   (It should contain something to help us identify it as one of YOUR slides.)
  • Replace our text and pictures with your own  Be sure to delete the text in the margins.
  • You may replace everything in our template, including the yellow background box, but please keep text out of the far right margin.
  • When you are done, click "save as" again, but now choose the JPEG (.jpg) image file type.
  • After you "save as" the JPEG file,  the text and images are locked; SCTV cannot make changes.
  • Email (attach) the .jpg file -- not the PowerPoint or Publisher file --  to  info@SCTVMC.org.

OK Choice:  MS Word AND MS Snipping Tool  
  • If you cannot use any of the above applications, you may also use Microsoft Word to make a bulletin board slide -- IF you then capture a picture of the final slide using something like MS Snipping Tool (see below).
  • Download our MS Word Template with built-in instructions.
  • Replace our text and pictures with your own content using Print Layout View to compose the page just as it will appear on the air.
  • All fonts, images, etc. must conform to the guidelines in the template and appear just as you desire.  We cannot make any changes. 
  • Find and open free MS Snipping Tool from Accessories in Windows 7 or in Apps in Windows 8 and 10.)     
  • Use the Snipping Tool to select your entire edited Word page, including our white margins.
  • Click "File/Save As" and choose .jpg as the type.  Give it a name that helps us identify it as one of YOUR slides.
  • Email your completed .jpg file -- not the MS Word .doc file -- to info@sctvmc.org
