2018 Special Town Meeting Spring

Town Meeting is 7 pm Monday, May 14 at Salisbury Elementary School.
The meeting is divided up into two parts:  
1. The Special Town Meeting, which occurs first.  This page features those articles.
2. The Annual Town Meeting, which occurs second.  (Click link at left to go there.)

Transfer $55,000.00 for engineering study on Liberty Street

To see if the Town will vote to transfer the sum of $55,000.00 from FY2018 budget line item number 0100.0413.5830.3049 (DPW -Capital Outlay - Pleasant Street/Seabrook Road project) to FY2018 budget line item number 0100.0413.5208 (DPW - Engineering Services) for the purpose of conducting an engineering study of the options for relieving flooding conditions on Liberty Street; or to take any other action relative thereto.

Transfer $50,000 for first year payment for new fire truck

To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to lease/purchase and equip a new truck for the Fire Department for a term in excess of three years in accordance with the provisions of G. L. c.44, §21C, and as funding therefor, to transfer the sum of $50,000.00 from FY2018 budget line item number 0100.0413.5830.3049 (DPW -Capital Outlay - Pleasant Street/Seabrook Road project) to FY2018 budget line item number 0100.0220.5850 (Fire Department - Capital Outlay - Vehicles) for the purpose of funding the first-year payment of a five-year lease/purchase agreement, including all costs incidental or related thereto; or to take any other action relative thereto.

To see if the Town will vote to transfer the sum of $45,000.00 from Free Cash to FY2018 budget line item number 0100.0413.5830 (DPW - Capital Outlay - Infrastructure) for the purpose of purchasing all of the street lights in Salisbury from National Grid and maintaining said lights until the Town purchases and installs new LED street lighting throughout the Town, including all incidental or related costs; or to take any other action relative thereto.

Town's share of US Army Corps of Engineers study

To see if the Town will vote to amend the vote taken under Article 19 of the October 23, 2017 Annual Fall Town Meeting regarding funding the Town's share of a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers study of possible solutions for coastal erosion problems on Salisbury Beach, by changing the purpose for which said funds may be used, and to dedicate such funding to be used toward the Town's share of the cost of acquiring sand from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' dredging of the Piscataqua River for placement on or near Salisbury Beach, including all incidental or related costs; or to take any other action relative thereto.
